Mamirauá Institute for Sustainable Development

Promoting or attending partner institution events is an excellent strategy for popularizing science. Between 2010 and 2018, 28 thousand people participated in our regionally-held events; participants were from municipalities in the Middle Solimões region and more recently, we held scientific exhibitions in the capital city of Manaus. We have also participated in fairs, events and exhibitions promoted by our partners such as EXPOT & C, held annually by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC) during the Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC).

Conservation and Management Symposium (Simcon)

Simcon is the main scientific event of the Mamirauá Institute and is held annually. The year 2018 represented the 15th consecutive edition of the event.  It brings together Mamirauá Institute researchers as well invited speakers and is a space for discussing and debating ideas and presenting and updating research results.
