Comunication

The Mamirauá Institute continually makes efforts to increase the visibility of its projects and programs, seeking to strengthen its brand and that of its partners, financers, and supporters. To this end, it invests in communication activities aiming for the broad divulgation of its work. Content is produced with specific tools for different media outlets and audiences. These activities promote the dissemination of the objectives, methods, and results of both research and extension projects. Get to know some of these strategies:

    Relationship to the press

    In recent years, the Mamirauá Institute has been strengthening its relationship with the press, aligning its image with the following ideas:  

    - Commitment to Amazonian conservation;

    -Development of scientific research as a Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications Institute, adhering to a standard of excellence;

    - Development of management practices that are environmentally sustainable, economically viable and socially just;  

    - Encouragement of community development by training and capacity building of local leaders and encouraging that all exercise their full citizenship rights. 

    Strengthening our relationship with the press has also allowed us to expand the reach of our news to other countries, beginning with Latin America, but already reaching other audiences in North America and Europe; this can be observed in the thermal map of 2018:

2013

- In the category of Accessory in Communication, the Mamirauá Institute wins the 4th Fapeam Prize of Scientific Journalism, 2013.  

-IDSM a finalist for the Milton Cordeiro Prize of Journalism for its news piece 'Pesquisa analisa condições de pesca para viabilizar manejo de aruanãs no estado do Amazonas'.


2014

- In the category of Accessory in Communication, the Mamirauá Institute is a finalist the 5th Fapeam Prize of Scientific Journalism.

2015
- Awarded the Fapeam Scientific Journalism Prize, 2015 for the article “Elas na Pesca” and finalist for the article "Tecnologia para estimular felicidade". 

- The institute is a finalist for the Milton Cordeiro Prize of Journalism for its article called 'Mãe perto, ninho protegido'.

-In May, the National council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) announced the Mamirauá Institute as the winner of the 2018 José Reis Prize for Scientific and Technological Dissemination
